Brief
The brief we received was to create a formal awards ceremony celebrating NHS staff achievements. The event needed to feature speeches, presentations, award announcements, and live entertainment from celebrity guests.
The client’s requirements were flexible but focused: to deliver a professional, seamlessly run show; ensure excellent visibility and sound for all guests; create smooth transitions between awards and performances; and capture a party atmosphere that still reflected and reinforced their brand throughout the venue.
Solution
We delivered full technical support, covering both concept and onsite execution. This included a d&b audio system tailored to the space, plus full backline for two live bands. Our lighting setup featured a mix of Chauvet wash and spot fixtures on trusses, supported by a stage lighting package with Mythos and Beamwash units.
To bring the brand to life, we rigged 5x full stars and 5x abstract stars made from Sceptron, echoing the ‘5 star care’ message. For special moments, we added confetti and Sparkular effects. Visually, we used two 20′ fast fold screens and two 10′ portrait screens to create dynamic digital reward banners. We also provided two cameras, one wide shot from the back and one roaming close-up, to capture all the key moments.
The full technical team comprised of 1 Production Manager, 8 lighting technicians (LX), 3 audio technicians, 2 vision technicians, 3 general crew, and 8 local rigging crew. On show night, the team included 2 audio technicians, 1 Stage Manager, 1 lighting technician, 2 vision technicians, and 2 camera operators.
Result
We successfully delivered a polished, seamless awards ceremony that truly celebrated NHS staff achievements. The event combined live performances, striking brand-led visuals, and dynamic technical effects to create a memorable night. By providing full technical support, from concept to onsite execution, we ensured smooth transitions, clear audio and visuals for all guests, and special moments enhanced by lighting, confetti, and Sparkular effects. Our dedicated technical and show teams worked together to bring the client’s vision to life and deliver an engaging, professional experience for everyone in attendance.
