When Julie Perry Events invited Sterling Event Group to help transform the ballroom of the 5-star Bulgari Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge, we knew we were in for something truly spectacular. The vision? A space that could seamlessly transition from a romantic ceremony setting into an elegant evening reception, featuring bold florals, candlelight, and mirrored surfaces for a luxurious and intimate atmosphere.
Solution
Creating a Dream Ceremony Space
The ceremony design centred around a breathtaking mirrored aisle that ran the entire length of the ballroom—providing a dramatic entrance for Olivia. As a backdrop, our scenic team installed white, tight-pleated draping and a curved structure, allowing the florist to craft a stunning archway of roses and foliage.
To maximize the room’s space, we designed a curved stage with circular feature steps, elegantly positioned over a semi-circular mirrored dance floor—a striking focal point that would later transform for the reception.
Seamless Transformation for the Evening Reception
Immediately after the ceremony, the mirrored aisle was swiftly removed and replaced with a raised platform for the central top table, ensuring the newlyweds and their guests remained at the heart of the celebration. Every stage element was finished with white carpeting and mirrored facias, maintaining a sleek, sophisticated look.
Lighting the Perfect Atmosphere
Lighting played a key role in setting the romantic yet vibrant mood:
✔ Soft pink washes created a warm, intimate ambiance.
✔ Warm white spotlights highlighted the intricate floral details.
✔ As guests re-entered for the reception, moving lights, haze, and spark effects heightened the excitement—building the perfect energy for an unforgettable evening.
