JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Event Technician specialising in vision engineering to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest quality visual production for a wide variety of live, virtual, and hybrid events. The ideal candidate will contribute to Sterling's reputation for technical artistry and exceptional experiences in the live events industry.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rig and operate vision equipment for a wide variety of live, virtual, and hybrid events
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Lead teams of freelance staff and represent the company with professionalism
- Communicate with clients, suppliers, venue staff, and crew both onsite and prior to events
- Prepare and maintain equipment in our warehouse spaces
- Collaborate with the head of vision to develop, maintain, and improve the vision department
- Deliver and collect equipment using company vehicles
- Assist in other departments as needed to meet business needs
SKILLS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a vision engineer or AV technician in the live events industry, particularly in the corporate sector
- Knowledge and live event experience using Barco Event Master screen management systems
- Knowledge and live event experience using presentation switchers
- Knowledge and experience with modular LED screens and associated processing
- Knowledge and experience with Panasonic projectors
- Extensive knowledge and live event experience using presentation and video playback software
- Knowledge and experience of live streaming events and video communication solutions
- Ability to work as part of a team or unaccompanied under own initiative
- Ability to thrive under the pressure of live events
- High standard of personal presentation
- Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work to deadlines
- High self-motivation and ability to lead by example
- Flexibility and a can-do, customer-focused attitude
- Keen eye for detail with a high standard of equipment presentation
- Full UK Driving License and own transport

JOB OVERVIEW
We are excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic Vision Prep Technician to join our growing team and play a key role in expanding the vision department. This position is integral to the warehouse operation, ensuring Sterling continues to uphold its reputation for innovation and technical excellence in the live events industry.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands on preparation of equipment (predominantly in the vision department, however work in other divisions of the warehouse will also be required) for productions and dry hires, to the highest standard.
- Building and wiring racks to suit specific job requirements.
- Checking in equipment returned from productions and hires.
- Ensuring all equipment is functional, clean, maintained and well presented to meet Sterling standards.
- Ensuring workspaces are kept well organised and tidy.
- Testing vision equipment such as lightware kits, Cat 5 drums, projectors, LED screens etc.
- General service, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Previous PAT testing experience an advantage but not a necessity.
- Loading / unloading of vans and trucks.
- PAT Testing.
- Occasional deliveries / collections and site work (Full UK driving license an advantage but not essential).
- Maintain high Health & Safety standards and adhere to company policies and procedures.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- High self-motivation, with the ability to lead by example and work as part of a team.
- Experience in the events industry
- Knowledge of video equipment particularly Barco and Analog Way switching equipment, Panasonic displays and projectors, Absen LED screen and Novastar processing.

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic Cable Prep Technician to join our growing team and play a key role in the cable department. This position is integral to the warehouse operation, ensuring Sterling continues to uphold its reputation for innovation and technical excellence in the live events industry.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands on preparation of equipment (predominantly in the cables and power departments, however work in other divisions of the warehouse will also be required) for productions and dry hires, to the highest standard
- Cleaning and recoiling cables returned from productions and hire
- Checking in cables returned from productions and hires
- Ensuring all cable, flight cases and mains distro are clean, maintained and well presented to meet Sterling standards
- Ensuring workspaces are kept tidy and well organised
- Testing cables including Cat 5/6/6a, Socapex, 3 phase main
- General service, maintenance, and repair of cables
- Loading / unloading of vans and trucks
- PAT testing
- Occasional deliveries / collections and site work (Full UK driving license an advantage but not essential)
- Maintain high Health & Safety standards and adhere to company policies and procedures
